Legal background

Concerning the  personal data collected with the systems of ECU, these are the the most important laws/formulas:

  • Law Number CXII of 2011 on the right of informational self-determination and the freedom of information (later referred to as Infotv.)
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the Europian Parliament and of the council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation)

Photos that are taken at events are  part of the project documentation, functioning as documents of proof. Photos can be shared on the communication platforms of Eszterhazy Károly Catholic University, on igazsagosatmenet.eu, and on the Facebook page of Az Igazsagos Átmenetért, without showing personal data. 

Legal basis of data management

The legal basis of data management, is your voluntary consent based on article 6 of GDPR (1) paragraph a).

Duration of data management

Data will be used during the period of project LIFE19 IPC/HU/000009 – LIFE-IP North-HU-Trans + 5 years (until 31st of december 2034).

Data access control and security measures  

Access to data

Your personal data is processed by the staff of Coal Commission Secretariat with the sole purpose of performing their tasks. The University will not give your personal data to a third party.

Security measures 

The University collects your personal data electronically. The University collects the voluntarily given personal data on the servers operated by the University. The University does not use the service of another company for the storing of personal data. The University takes appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data is protected from unauthorised access, or unauthorised alteration.

Your rights regarding data management

According to 14th § of Infotv. you have the following rights regarding your stored personal data.

  • right to preliminary information gathering
  • right of access
  • right to rectification
  • right to erasure or restriction

Right to preliminary information gathering

Using the contact details set out in the first item, you can ask for information from the University in writing on the following subjects: 

  • which personal data was used
  • what was it’s legal basis
  • what was the purpose of the data management
  • from what source it was gathered
  • what was the duration of the data management

The University will comply with your request in 30 days by way of sending a letter to your provided address. It is required that you send your letter from the e-mail address that you have given when you subscribed or it has to have been entered to the register of the University.

Right to rectification

Using the e-mail adress mentioned before, you can ask for your personal data to be corrected. Through this process you can request your e-mail address, your name, or any other personal data to be fixed. In your application please indicate, which system and what personal data you would like to change. The rectification will be done within 30 days of your request.

Right to erasure or restriction

Using the e-mail address mentioned in the first item you can request your personal data to be restricted or be erased. Your request will be fulfilled within 30 days of the arrival of your letter. You will be notified on your e-mail address you have given at registration.

Legal remedies for data management

You can request an examination at the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (later referred to simply as Authority) concerning any breaches of your personal data protection rights (or in case, it might be happening). This request however, will only be fulfilled if you have already contacted the University concerning the practice of rights highlighted in item number 5 in the prospectus.
